From: Pieter Stouten EMBL BITNET> Date: 8 nov 1990 Subject: The Ladder: Rules, Standings, New Coordinator. The Ladder rules and standings ============================== I did not get any suggestions to change the proposed ladder rules as they were posted to the list by Chris Sterritt on 31-st October. They have been added to the SHOGI-L archive and are valid as of now. I have also put the latest ladder standings (7-th November) into the archive. Since then, I have finished my last ladder game. Anybody on the places 2 to 6 who wants to challenge me ? Please, do ! Also, I noticed that there are people lower on the ladder who don't play. Maybe I should say once again, that if you want to play a ladder game, you must challenge somebody who is not more than 5 places above you. But you must do it yourself, nobody will tell you whom you should challenge or play against. The rules and standings can be retrieved by sending the command(s): GET LADDER RULES GET LADDER STANDING to LISTSERV TECHNION BITNET. New Ladder coordinator ====================== We still don't have a new ladder coordinator, but on Sat, 3 Nov 1990 Adam Chalcraft PHOENIX CAMBRIDGE AC UK> said: >I have no objections to governing the ladder, >but I have been remaining silent because I may lose e-mail access >after 3/12/90. This is unlikely, but possible. This seems to me a serious offer. I would suggest we take a chance. If it turns out to be a problem, we can always find a new coordinator. Should the situation arise that we must find a coordinator quickly and we can't, I am willing to take over for a short while. Pieter Stouten embl bitnet> embl-heidelberg de>
