From: Pieter Stouten EMBL BITNET> Date: 2 nov 1990 Subject: Re: Latest Ladder, Chris goes begging *again* Come on, there must be somebody who can take over Chris's job as Ladder coordinator. It really involves very little work. Just a small bit of administration. And to me it seems fun ! Why don't you do it yourself, then, one might ask. The reason is that in my opinion it is best to spread tasks that are clear complete entities and unrelated to other tasks over as many people as possible. This is to involve more people, which gives us a stronger footing. It preserves continuity and makes us less dependent on individual people's whims or situations. Apart from that: I want to put the ladder rules as they are compiled by Chris and posted to everyone yesterday in the SHOGI-L archive. If neither Chris nor I have heard any comments or suggestions before next wednesday 7-th November, the rules as they are will be added to the archive.
