From: Pieter Stouten EMBL BITNET> Date: 1 nov 1990 Subject: New archive files: game 24, tournament announcements and reports. Three new files have been added to the SHOGI-L archive. Game 24 ------- The first one is a very recent professional game with comment by Michael Sandeman, former European Champion, now living in Japan. It is Mike's first contribution especially for SHOGI-L. I already received his second contribution too and I hope more are going to follow. The game he analyses is between Nakahara Makoto (Meijin) and Aono Teruichi (8-dan), played on 14 Oct 1990 for the Semi-final of the Nihon Series. It is only 51 moves ! Retrieve by sending to LISTSERV@TECHNION the command: GET SHOGI GAME24 Enjoy ! Tournament announcements and reports ------------------------------------ Two other files contain tournament announcements and tournament results. Everybody is invited to send announcements of tournaments (in Europe or America) or reports of tournaments that took place to me and they will be incorporated in these files. Presently, the RESULTS file contains the complete result of the last European Championship (Frankfurt, 20 & 21 October 1990). The ANNOUNCE file contains the three tournaments recently announced through the discussion list (nothing new there, yet). Retrieve by sending to LISTSERV@TECHNION the command(s): GET TOURNA ANNOUNCE GET TOURNA RESULTS These two files will be updated regularly. In principle I will not notify everybody on the list of an update. If you are interested to get notification of updates, just send the command(s): FUI ADD TOURNA ANNOUNCE FUI ADD TOURNA RESULTS where FUI stands for "File Update Information", and you will be notified of every change. If you want to receive the files automatically when they are updated you must issue the following command(s): AFD ADD TOURNA ANNOUNCE AFD ADD TOURNA RESULTS where AFD means "Automatic File Distribution", and they will be sent to you as soon as they are changed. Of course, the use of the FUI/AFD subscription mechanism is not limited to the two files mentioned here. It can be used for most of the files in the archive. Cheers, Pieter Stouten embl bitnet>
