Pickard Fishman" UWAVM ACS WASHINGTON EDU> Subject: Re: Computer Program for Korean Chess I wonder if Korean chess is similar to the chess played by Chinese, sometimes called 'Elephant Chess', where a river divides the 2 forces, pieces move on the intersection points of lines rather than within the square, there is no Queen & the General(King) is weak, surrounded by 2 'sycophants' who, like him, can only move within the confines of their fortress. A Cannon captures by jumping over 1 man, friend or foe. If so, I'd be interested in any replies that you get or any info that you have about Chinese chess software. I'd be interested to know about Korean chess as well, esp. if you can recommend a book (or 2) in English. -Mike M.
