From: Pieter Stouten EMBL BITNET> Date: 6 dec 1990 Subject: Crane's Shogi 0.3A2 available from the SHOGI-L archive. Crane's Shogi 0.3A2 =================== As of today, Crane's Shogi version 0.3A2 for the Macintosh is available from the SHOGI-L archive. It is in .hqx format, so you need either BinHex4 or StuffIt 1.5.1 to unravel it. The result is a .sea file (self-extracting compactor archive), which as the name says extracts itself. I upload it on behalf of the author. Crane's Shogi is a freeware Shogi playing program. At the moment, the documentation for this version is only in Japanese and requires the Japanese operating system (Kanji Talk, available from APDA for $70) in order to be useful. Differences with the previous version (0.21E) are: 1) It can work under MultiFinder, now, and has other bugs fixed. 2) Menus are written in both Japanese and English. The user can select. 3) It can save and restore games. 4) It plays stronger than its predecessor. 5) It is easier to make the right choice in case promotion is possible. In order to download the program send the following command: GET SHOGI 03A2 to LISTSERV TECHNION BITNET. Have fun !
