From: Garland Operator 7-G AARDVARK UCS UOKNOR EDU> Date: 8 aug 1990 Subject: Macintosh Shogi Program... I am using the Macintosh program Pieter (sp?) was talking about earlier and I really enjoy it. It is hard for me to find other players in Oklahoma. What I am interested in is others opinions about this program. One question I have is DOES THE PROGRAM EVER DROP PIECES? There were many times in a game I was playing last night where the computer could have avoided a touchy situation by dropping a piece, and he could DEFINATELY have avoided the checkmate by doing this. I was thinking about joining the ladder, but I have only played 3 games (including the one last night) and play terribly. I'm trying though. I would like to get the book "Shogi for Beginners" that was discussed here but I forgot the information about it. Would anyone mind resending it to me? Domo. Ja na.
