Sayonara, Satoshi Murayama 9-dan

Satoshi Murayama was born June 15th, 1969 in Hiroshima prefecture. Studying under Nobuo Mori 6-dan, he reached 4-dan by 1986. In 1995, he was promoted to A class and 8-dan.

In March of 1998, after once again earning promotion to the A class, Maruyama began a one-year vacation for health reasons. He died of cancer on August 8th, 1998, near his home in Hiroshima. He was 29. Murayama was posthumously awarded the 9-dan title.
