Elo-ratings and tournament results of fall 2011 are now available! - 5th ISF in Paris, Fortin wins again (Nov 2011)
The International Shogi Forum 2011 took place from 27th until 30th October in Rueil Malmaison close to Paris. This was the first time the ISF was organized outside of Japan.
Parallel to the ISF tournament there was an open tournament (the Georges Hodges Memorial) and a lot of side events like a dobutsu tournament, a youth tournament and simultaneous games with professional players from Japan.
Special guests were Moriuchi Mejin, Habu 3-kan, Aono 9 dan, Hatakeyama 7 dan, Masuda 6 dan, Ina 6 dan and Madoka Kitao Joryu 1 dan, the inventor of dobutsu shogi.
The ISF tournament with 22 participants was won by European champion Jean Fortin

Second became Laszlo Abuczki
ahead of Eric Cheymol
.
Roberto Takashima
won the George Hodges Memorial (62 participants).
Also on the podium the surprisingly strong Adrien Levacic
(the next French Dan player?) and Yasuhiko Utsunomiya

The ESC/WOSC 2012 will take place in Cracow, Poland, from July 12th to July 15th 2012.
