Shogi Game 8 (amateur - professional, Rook + Bishop handicap, no comment) Below you will find a game played in London, April 1985. At that time I was 1-dan amateur and played against Aono Teruichi (8-dan professional). The handicap is Rook and Bishop, normally referred to as "two piece". The handicap is based on the (assumed) difference in strength (dan or kyu grades) and two piece is the normal handicap when a 1-dan amateur plays against a top professional (see file SHOGI RANKING in the archive). Pieter Stouten 31-st May 1990. Corrected 2-nd July 1990. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Black: Pieter Stouten (1-dan); White: Aono Teruichi (8-dan) 1.--- S6b 2.P7f P5d 3.P4f S5c 4.P4e G6b 5.S4h G3b 6.S4g P7d 7.P3f G7c 8.P3e S2b 9.R3h K6b 10.P3d Px3d 11.Rx3d P'3c 12.R3f G6d 13.N3g P7e 14.Px7e Gx7e 15.S6h P6d 16.G7h P8d 17.P'7f G7d 18.K6i K6c 19.S4f P6e 20.P9f G6d 21.P5f L1b 22.G5h N7c 23.S3e S3a 24.P4d S3a-4b 25.N4e S6b 26.Px4c+ Sx4c 27.P'4d S5b 28.P'3d P6f 29.Px3c+ Nx3c 30.S4f S6b-5c 31.Nx3c+ P'3e 32.Sx3e Gx3c 33.N'4e P'3d 34.Nx5c+ Sx5c 35.Sx3d Gx4d 36.S3c= G4e 37.R2f N'2d 38.Sx2d= Px2d 39.Rx2d N'4f 40.G5i P'4g 41.P'4i Gx5f 42.P'5g Px6g+ 43.Gx6g Gx6g 44.Sx6g P'6f 45.Bx6f S'5e 46.R2b+ P'6b 47.N'7e Gx7e 48.Px7e N'8b 49.S'5b K7b 50.S6a= K8c 51.Bx5e Resigns
